My brother stayed with me on Tuesday night, a somewhat impromptu visit. He was keen to go to the gym on Wednesday morning so I went along with him for some weight training; focussing on my chest and shoulders.
It’s the first weight training session I have done in absolutely ages and I am definitely keen to get back to it, or at least add it to the list of things to incorporate into my weekly plan at the end of these 66 days.
The list of things I want to be doing is getting pretty long. I am beginning to recognise that if I want to make time for these activities, then I have to trade in how I have been spending my time.
I’m already making steps in the right direction, cutting out alcohol in the week so I can get up earlier to work out before work. I also need to try to have a fixed bed and waking time. Often I’ll sit up till midnight watching TV and then struggle to get up early, so maybe if I gave myself a stricter bed time it wouldn’t be such a challenge. Obviously travel and work can get in the way, but it should be the exception to stay up late, rather than the norm.
In the evening I went to yoga. It was a 90 minute Bikram class which was hard but good, I always love a 90-minute class when I get to them.
I remember the first 30-day challenge I did the studio only had 90-minute Bikram classes so it was a lot more intense.
That said, I feel like I am really getting an incredible benefit from the variety of classes I am taking as part of this challenge. It’s really helping me to grow my practice.
