Day 10! Well done, you made it. These 10 days have woven breath work, reflection, exercise, moving meditation, mindfulness and self-care throughout our days, to give us a healthy start to the festive season. These wellness activities are simple yet effective ways of building on our sense of self, creating a calm state of mind so that we can feel relaxed, replenished and revitalised. I hope you have felt some benefits.
Today we will complete the VITAL Signs reflection piece. The purpose of this series of reflection activities is to help us to gain insight into who we are at our core, exploring how we operate in this world, allowing us to create a pathway at this point in our lives that honours our authentic selves. More on that to come.
As well as the VITAL Signs piece you have 3 tasks.
1 – Breath. Take a moment of silence today and perform the conscious breathing technique we have used over the last 10 days. Place a hand on your heart and a hand on your stomach and just breathe in and out through your nose. No breath manipulation required, just observe your breath. Today you are challenged to just do this for as long as you can manage.
2 – Moving Meditation. Today carve out an hour from your day for a walk. Maybe over lunchtime. No phone. Just fresh winter air and give your brain time to do it’s processing.
3 – Plan. Write out a plan for the forthcoming week, to include what self-care, reflection, meditative, exercise, mindfulness, breath work activities you are going to compete up to the 1st Jan! You can take from this programme any tasks you enjoyed or found useful, or add in any others you can think of. The key is to continue with the progress you have made and to treat yourself well over the next week so you enter into the New Year feeling great!
