I started this week at day 51 of my 66-day challenge in which I am creating a routine for daily exercise. It was also day 14 of the 30-day hot yoga class challenge. On Monday my yoga class was 60 minutes at lunchtime because I needed to travel to Bristol in the evening for a full day course the next day.
I had thought I was going to be in London for most of this week but I actually would be away for 2 days, and needed to plan my exercise around this.
Monday’s yoga class was hot but manageable. This hot weather makes the studio very hot and humid, but daily practice means that when others are taking to the floor for a rest I am managing it with relative ease. I’m at a point in this 30-day challenge where I am really enjoying it. I feel like my body is starting to change; I feel strong and flexible.
The 30-day challenge ends on 27th June and the 66-day one on 26th, and I go on a yoga retreat on 25th so I have the chance to keep going with it rather than getting to day 30 and stopping, which is something I might find myself doing normally. I do not want this to happen this time, and only if I can make sure of that.
I want to make a plan for this week, for the rest of my challenges but also for beyond them so I can continue running and practicing yoga in a way that is manageable and consistent. These challenges push me mentally and physically, and are all about being fully submerged in my practice; but beyond them I have to find a healthy balance that is sustainable.
