When I woke in my hotel on Thursday morning, with a hangover from a work dinner the night before, I didn’t have much in me to give. So I only managed one round of sun salutations.
After work I had some down time so I did a gentle 30 minute Hatha practice in my room.
It isn’t a huge amount, but before this challenge I would have done no exercise at all on a day with a hangover like that. I think that this challenge is allowing me to think that I only have to do a small amount of yoga to be kind to myself. This challenge isn’t about doing a massive workout every day, but getting myself into the mind-set that I want to be kind to myself, to do things that are good for me and my mental health, to challenge myself everyday. I think that the sun salutations lead to a more positive mind-set, to a healthier day and I am overall exercising more (more runs and yoga classes) since I started.
It feels good. I feel good.
