On Wednesday I started the day with 2 rounds of sun salutations. I’m already feeling that this morning sun salutation practice is a simple and achievable start to my day. I release the knots and tight spots from a nights sleep and begin to feel more awake and alert – something that can often take me until lunchtime or later.
I travelled to Manchester in the afternoon and committed to run at the gym at my hotel. It seemed that the gym had a 30 minute limit on the treadmill so after a 5 minute warm up I stopped the treadmill to get my 30 minute allocation for my run. I ran a 30 minute 5Km on a gym treadmill in Dublin last year when I decided to run at 10Km/h pace for the 5Km distance, but all my road runs have been over 30 minutes.
I made a decision to run it in 30 minutes.
It felt good and I actually achieved 5Km in 29 minutes and 16 seconds. This is a major breakthrough. Now I know I can, I will pick up my pace.
Recently running more regularly has certainly helped me to improve my stamina and pace. So I am feeling pretty good about that.
