Last week I did 2 x 60 minute home practice yoga sessions. That was it.
For someone trying to make headway on a lifestyle change this was about as lazy as I could have been without doing anything at all. That said the 1st of those was my 100th yoga class of the year.
In 2016 I did a total of 89 yoga classes all year, so to have hit 100 in the first 6 months feels great. I’m averaging one class every other day which is awesome.
Buuuuuut, over the last 6 weeks, since the last 10Km race, I have done 4 runs, totalling 22.6Km, and 10Km of that was a race this morning. Essentially the last 6 weeks have been a bit slack, and what was meant to be an easy, flat 10Km this morning turned out to been lot harder than it should have been. I made it in 1:04:49 but I had initially hoped that this could be the PB for the year as it was a flat riverside route. However with barely any running over the last 6 weeks just getting round felt like all I could manage. I did run the whole thing, no walking at all, which may be the first run of that length this year which I haven’ walked in parts. So a small win I guess.
Tomorrow I fly to Ireland for work and am there until Thursday night, so I am going to use the trip to revise for my exams and to get my running and yoga back on track.
I now have 11 medals on my rack and with 5 months to go for the rest of the year my intention is to really knuckle down with the running and yoga. I owe it to myself.
