Monday was cross training pre-work; 30 mins on the static bike, and 75 minute yoga in the evening; which was a great class despite the stiffness from the long Sunday run. Exercise has seemed to be the best fixer for the aching and yoga was just amazing; to be able to stretch and soften the tightness in my muscles. Bliss.
I had an early start today and am flying to Paris tonight for work. This week feels intensely busy. Last night I dreamt I was packing 2 bags to travel by plane and couldn’t fit everything in them, so Inhad to keep unpacking and repacking over and over. I read this morning that this dream means your life is chaos! This could be true.
I am working on a 4-week ‘from 10Km to half marathon’ training plan as Steve and I are due to run a half marathon on 13th May. We have to start training as I have basically been doing 1x run a week on average which is deeply insufficient. However I am also so tired and have so much travel this week! It’s hard to motivate myself.
The plan on the half-marathon schedule is 2x interval training sessions, 1x slow run, 2x cross training sessions, a rest day and an 8-mile run.
Based on this my actual plan is:
Monday: 30min bike LISS cross training in the morning and 75 mins yoga in the evening. (Done)
Tuesday: Rest day – too much work & travel for anything else.
Wednesday: Interval session 1.
Thursday: Slow run and yoga
Friday: Interval session 2 in the morning and I’m at a wedding in the evening – so that’ll involve a lot of dancing!
Saturday: Recover from the wedding!?
Sunday: 8 mile long run.
Let’s see how that goes…..
