It is Day 4! We are nearly halfway through. Today we are doing 3 simple exercises.
- Breath.
Perform the mindful breathing activity again. Sitting with one hand on your chest and the other on your stomach, this time take 15 conscious breaths. Observing how they feel, allow yourself to relax more with every exhale. - Reflection.
On day one we wrote out 8 positive words that describe our character. You’ll need to catch up and do this is if you have not yet. Today we are going to say those words out loud while looking in a mirror. Starting each sentence with ‘I am’…. then say one of the words. Repeat 8 times so you say each of the words in a full ‘I am’ sentence. So, I am….x, I am ….y, I am…..z and then finally you end this exercise by saying ‘I am complete’. This one might be a challenge. I’m going to confess this isn’t easy for me either, but this is meant to be a challenge. Just give it a go. - Rest.
Tonight, aim to go to bed 30 minutes earlier than your normal bedtime. Just getting into bed early can make a difference to how rested you feel the next day even if you don’t necessarily got to sleep earlier. But if you can, set down your phone so you don’t spend that 30 mins on the internet, and just try and relax, lay there and focus on your breathing, you might just find you get to sleep a little earlier than expected.
