After weeks of not running, literally nearly 8 weeks; I finally ran.
I stayed in a hotel, I took my kit and I just did it.
5Km on the treadmill with no stopping in 31:32.
It was tougher than I would have liked but that’s the way when you are starting over.
Honestly the hardest part is ALWAYS just starting. But now I have run once I know I can do it, so it becomes easier to go again.
Over the last few months I have got my yoga practice back, started weight training again and now running is back on the agenda.
It is the combination of these three exercises that makes me see the best results physically so I plan to make the best of how I’ve gradually brought these exercises back into my life. I will use a structured plan which is what I know helps me to achieve my goals.
So, today I am going to make a plan for the rest of the week. I am going on holiday on Sunday, but I want to also keep exercising to some extent when I am away so I will take my running kit and hiking shoes and make sure I’m active when I am away too.
Then when I get back from holiday my job starts to get super busy again, with lots of travel, so I’m going to have to be really committed to my health and well-being to prioritise exercise every day.
I feel confident I can do it though.
