In keeping with my goals for Monday I went for a 45 minute walk in the morning around the common. Giles came with me so we got to discuss the week ahead and our plans. I really love spending a little time together chatting and walking around the lovely area we live. Every time we go for a morning walk I think; “we should do this more frequently”.
I tracked my food all day, ate really healthily by planning my meals and sticking to it. I went to therapy and then to a 75 minute Bikram yoga class.
It was my first class in 3 weeks and it was seriously tough. The room felt hotter than normal, but I know it’s just because I am not used to it after such a break. The teacher taking the class is very experienced and as he walked around the room I felt compelled to not slack off. I did every posture but held off the 2nd set of triangle because I felt quite dizzy at that point.
I could really feel the tightness in my hamstrings and felt so disappointed in myself that I have regressed from the progress I had made through the regular practice I had before this hiatus. With a bit of consistency I should be able to get back where I was fairly quickly.
Today (Wednesday) I travel to Scandinavia for the rest of the week so I won’t get to the studio again until the weekend, but thankfully it is a bank holiday weekend so the plan is to be home and get back on top of my life a bit.
On the plus side, after a good Monday I weighed in on Tuesday morning to find I was back to my pre-holiday and hiatus weight.
On Tuesday I was working away from home so I did 15 minutes of home practice in the morning but that’s all I could fit in as I had dinner plans in the evening. So although I tracked my food all day it was a bit tricky to track my dinner ingredients. On the plus side I didn’t drink alcohol over dinner which will have saved me many calories.
The rest of this week is a bit challenging as I am travelling and doing work dinners, so the aim is to do as much exercise as possible, to track my food and drink, and I have brought a swimsuit, yoga outfit, and a running outfit with me so there is some hope!
