Thursday was my 4th day of intermittent fasting. Giles has joined me on this eating plan too which makes things a lot easier. Although he gets VERY HANGRY, so that has to be kept in mind so that we keep irritablity and snapping at bay!
I had set my alarm to run before work but I was so tired I ended up resetting the alarm and getting up for work an hour later. I was out and about all day at meetings and surviving off coffee but this was the first day my hunger wasn’t all-consuming.
After work I thought I should try my first run of the week as I had skipped it in the morning. It was pretty tough, mainly due to the humidity. I ran 5Km in 31:16 and was a sweaty mess when I got home.
Due to the heat I had avoided running right up till the last feasible time I could do so while still be able to get to yoga.
It was one of those yoga classes that reminded me of the old days and why I fell in love with Bikram yoga. Hot, energetic, full of positive vibes. Largely thanks to the teacher who I have loved since the first class of theirs I took. It’s been ages since I did one of his classes as on Thursday nights I’ll often be home late from travelling or having some drinks, so not drinking in the week has its advantages!
I thought on the intermittent fasting I’d find going to yoga straight after running a challenge but it was fine. The only trouble was that the yoga class was 8-9pm so I was going to be left fasting after class and I was super hungry. So on this occasion I allowed myself a coconut water during class to help minimise the hunger pangs and to give me some energy.
