I started today with my new intention to do my sun salutations first thing. I did 10 rounds jumping back to plank. I felt like I was going through the motions at the end, not really feeling it, so I will try and be a bit more engaged tomorrow. More mindful.
Then after work I was planning on going to the gym to run intervals, but Giles said he was going for a road run so I joined him instead.
I ran 5Km in 29:24, another sub-30. Unlike the last one which was 29:16 of intervals, this one I ran the whole thing at tempo. It was hard but I really am beginning to feel my fitness level changing positively.
I remember a yoga teacher telling me once that Bikram yoga will help improve your other sports, like running. But no other sports can improve your yoga, you just have to get on the mat.
I feel my daily yoga practice and Bikram classes are making a difference to my running, although I’d like to try and meet my goal of 3 runs this week. However I also need to show up on my mat even though I’m travelling.
Plan:
Wednesday: Sun salutations before travelling for work. No chance for evening exercise.
Thursday: Sun salutations before travelling back to London. XT 60 minute walk in afternoon.
Friday: Sun salutations and a morning run. Bikram 75 in the evening.
Saturday: Sun salutations. Flow and Yin.
Sunday: Sun salutation. Run.
