I had taken the train to Scotland from Warrington and suddenly realised on Saturday that I didn’t have any ID with me for my flight home on Sunday afternoon.
This gave me anxiety.
I kept thinking whether I should cut my losses and just buy a train ticket, but the only reason I had booked a flight was because I had been away all week and couldn’t face a 6 hour train journey.
I rang the airline and the person I spoke to said I’d need a government issued ID, even for a domestic flight.
So for the rest of the Hen Party I had this low level anxiety about my trip home, dappled with indecision as to whether I should just try my luck at the airport or book a train which would cost £150, baring in mind I wouldn’t get a refund for my flight.
I did one round of sun salutations on Sunday morning before heading to the airport 5 hours before my flight, as this meant I could cab share with some of the other girls and speak to the airline about my predicament.
I spoke to the lady on the BA check in desk. She said a debit card to confirm my name was sufficient. No big deal.
