On the half marathon training plan for today was a 60 minute run. But the rain was relentless all morning!
I’ve noticed this last week how much I avoid getting on with whatever exercise I have planned, pushing it back hour after hour. Sometimes into the late evening.
Last night I went to bed with the intention of running at midday. Due to the rain I eventually left the house at 2pm when it eased up slightly – which wasn’t exactly on time but could certainly have been worse!
I ran for 60 mins covering 9.22Km. It rained heavily and by the time I was finished I was dripping wet!
Running everyday invites a whole array of challenges. I’ve needed to accept that I won’t be getting personal bests but getting my trainers on everyday and running is enough. I am looking forward to completing this January challenge so I can begin to focus on improving my speed and hopefully I will start to find these long runs less labourious!
At the halfway point of this challenge I have run 58.95 Km in a total of 6 hours, 13 minites and 51 seconds.
I’m pretty happy with this!
Well done Sophie on reaching the halfway mark! Many people start January full of optimism and goals (myself included lol) but forget them by the end of the first week. I think what you are doing is great. Good luck and keep going girl!😊
