Yesterday marked the 1/3 point of both my 30-day hot yoga and the Run Every Day in January for Mind challenges.
My day began with a 05:30 start with a busy working morning. I had visions of getting home around lunchtime and making it out for a run before hitting the yoga studio later in the evening, but the timings didn’t quite work out and instead I had to head out to work again and leave all exercising to the evening.
This sometimes makes me feel a bit overwhelmed, like it’ll be too difficult and that I won’t get as much done. Since the 10Km run on Sunday I have been taking the running easy, but Steve and I had decided to move onto a half marathon training plan and so it’s important that I start to increase my distance. I was due to run for 40 minutes and this is what I did.
I was just plodding along, and it was so very cold, but it felt good and I was enjoying taking it nice and slow. In the end I managed 6Km which I was fairly pleased with.
I made it to the 90 minute yoga class and got to practice next to one of my friends who I met at the yoga studio several years back. We are both making conscious choices this year to eat well, exercise more and work on improving our happiness. So, it felt empowering to practice next to someone with the same goal and intentions.
My morning started with doubt that I’d achieve what I wanted to, but it all worked out perfectly.
