On Friday I ran 7.05Km in the 45 minutes I allocated to running. It was tough and I was ready to quit at about 40 minutes but kept on pushing to meet my goal.
I stayed at a friends house on Friday night and on Saturday morning we took her dog for a walk in the wood and across some fields, so that was my second LISS session of the week. We walked for about 40 minutes.
Today I was due to squeeze quite a lot of exercise in to my schedule. A HIIT & abs session as well as a upper body weights workout and metabolic circuits, plus 2 yoga classes and a run. Yes, a crazy and unacheivable amount. It’s because I had pushed onto the weekend things I was due to do earlier in the week but didn’t have time for, and so I knew I would only get a few of these things done today.
I did some housework when I woke up and went to Yin at midday, then after lunch committed to go for a run. I did 9 and 3/4 kilometres which was a distance I have needed to do since the end of last year to award myself a Harry Potter themed medal. I purchased the virtual run medal but I never completed the distance, until now!
I found the start a bit tricky and walked a bit of it but finally found my pace and although it was slow, I did it in 1:04:00 exactly.
This week I have run 4 times totalling 23.75Km, gone to 2 yoga classes, done 3 XT sessions of walking totalling 2 hours and 2 weight training sessions.
I’m meant to do a lot more weight training than that, but it was good to just get started and I can certainly build up from there.
It’s been a good week, I like September and the cooler weather, and I feel really motivated to keep on top of my goals over the last few months of this year. I’ve managed to do a little bit of everything this week and my body feels OK with that, so I just need to keep it up.
I’ve just committed to a week long yoga retreat in July next year and I really hope that I will be able to go there feeling my absolute best.
I’m travelling a lot over the week ahead. I have back to back conference calls all day tomorrow, I’m teaching all day on Tuesday in London and then flying to Paris in the evening where I am until Thursday late afternoon. On Friday I fly to Dublin for work on Saturday but am staying there until for the rest of the weekend.
I haven’t worked out how to fit in my workouts so I’ll do that before work tomorrow or I’ll run the risk of this good week fizzling out to nothing.
