I gave myself a kick up the butt and went to the gym last night. I forgot my water so could have turned back, but I didn’t; I got onto the treadmill and started walking.
I made a decision to run 5Km at 10Km/h so I’d complete it in 30 minutes and I did exactly that!
I have done faster 5Kms than this over the year but only by seconds, but I haven’t done a run where I have run at a fixed speed the whole time and I quite liked it. It wasn’t easy nor was it hard.
Afterwards I went back to my hotel and showered before heading out to dinner at a gluten-free vegan friendly restaurant I had found near to my hotel. It literally made me soooooo happy to be able to eat a meal where I didn’t have to ask for changes or omissions. I even had a slice of raw coconut banoffee cake!
I have a dinner tonight (Wednesday) and so I planned to go to a local Bikram studio for a class before work today. When my alarm went off at 6am I thought about snoozing it or not bothering to go but I didn’t and I went along and had a really nice, if not a little stiff, 75 minute class.
I’m pleased with how I’m managing this week and getting some exercise done.
Such a good idea – I might give the treadmill a go. I’ve been trying to break 30 minutes for weeks!

Yeah the treadmill helps! Easier to manage my pace for sure. Keep at it! Good luck x
